Magic Johnson accused of faking AIDS...

10/11/2008 - Mario C (positivelyfalse.com)

So, some talk show host apparently has some reason to believe that Magic might have pretended to fake AIDS. First of all, Magic Johnson never had an AIDS diagnosis, as he never met the criteria. He simply tested positive for HIV. Second, the host said that he would have been "the only cured AIDS guy ever." This is not true, there are many of these people. They are simply called "Long Term Non-Progressors" or "Elite Controllers" or even, get this..."Highly Exposed Persistently Seronegative." There is a claim that these people are being studied, although "So far none of the immune responses they've studied in long-term nonprogressors are any different than in people who progress to AIDS more quickly." So yes, they may be "studying" these people by asking questions which do not allow for answers that contradict HIV=AIDS dogma. In other words they look for receptor differences on cell surfaces, protein constituents of the PCR tests they run (the results make about as much sense as the world does to a chicken who recently had its head taken off), and so on. However, they will never look at these people, these "elite controllers," and actually CONSIDER them. They cannot consider that maybe these people are staying healthy because they are avoiding medications.

Back to Magic: this story makes me wonder about some things. For instance how many times did Magic get tested since his 1991 diagnosis? Tommy Morrison had the same misfortune strike him. He tested positive in 1996 and was removed from the boxing world for over a decade before he finally became convinced, and proved, that his initial positive diagnosis was a false positive (I cannot stress this point enough...ALL positive results are FALSE positives). Nevertheless, why does Magic not try and clear his HIV status like Morrison? After all, we know now that there are well over 75 different factors which can induce a positive result thanks to the work of Christine Johnson. Gary Null often talks about how he once tested a group of healthy long distance runners who are all in great health and physical shape and every single one of them was showing "dangerously" low CD4 cell counts.

I believe Magic cannot clear his name due to a few factors. Namely, he was the poster boy for the "anyone is at risk for AIDS" catastrophism of the late 80's. The fact that a superstar like him could get infected was a powerful psy-op tool for instilling the belief in the public and solidifying the perception which the medical establishment, and fear-mongering media wanted. In fact if you look at the history of AIDS you find out as soon as Magic made his announcement about his HIV status, there was a very large increase immediately in national HIV tests. With someone like Tommy Morrison, he is a relative nobody. Magic Johnson however, is not only a celebrity, he is now also cashing in on his AIDS foundation and business interests. He has all the reason in the world to keep his mouth shut.

And like any well-established religion, it is not subject to scrutiny, and questioning the dogma is looked down upon. For instance nobody seems to want to explain how it is that Magic's children are all negative, including his wife. He admitted he didn't use condoms and I have never heard even once that his wife has taken even one AIDS medication and certainly not one word that any of his children were given any regimen.

From RastaLivewire:

Reality or Magic?

Many individuals began to take their health in their own hands rather than rely on medical authority for the “treatment” of HIV when it became obvious that there were a thousand and one inconsistencies in the HIV/AIDS theory.

In terms of notoriety, the list is led by one of the nation’s top basketball stars, Earvin ”Magic” Johnson. In November 1991, Magic proved to be HIVpositive when he applied for a marriage license. Magic was totally healthy until AIDS specialists Anthony Fauci, from the NIH, David Ho, now director of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center in New York, and Magic’s personal doctor advised AIDS prophylaxis with AZT.

Magic’s health changed radically within a few days. The press wrote in December 1991: “Magic Reeling as Worst Nightmare Comes True-He’s Getting Sicker.” Only after he began taking AZT did Magic’s health begin to decline. He “had lost his appetite and suffered from bouts of nausea and fatigue” and complained. “I feel like vomiting almost every day.”

But then suddenly Magic’s AIDS symptoms disappeared-and so did all further news about his AIDS symptoms and treatment. Had Magic’s virus suddenly become harmless, or was Magic taken off AZT? No paper would mention whether Magic was taken off AZT. Nobody knew, except those who joked, “There is no magic in AZT, and there is no AZT in Magic.

Indeed. it is very unlikely that he could have won the Olympics in 1992 on AZT, considering his strong reactions to the toxic drug in 1991. The silence of the AIDS establishment seems to confirm this assumption. Nothing would have been a better advertisement for the troubled AIDS drug than having returned AIDS patient Magic to an Olympic victory. But no such announcement was made.

At last Magic broke the silence himself. After a “motivational” AIDS talk in Tallahassee, Florida, in the spring of 1995, Magic responded to a teacher that “He had been taking AZT for a while, but has stopped.” The media preferred not to mention the news.

What we do know for sure is that Magic was definitely told and advised to stop taking AZT, which by his own words proves to be the case. We also know that the side effects are severe, not just from AZT, but even from more recent HAART drugs like protease inhibitors. Magic seems to not be dealing with not even one adverse reaction. This is why many people are starting to believe he is well because there is some miracle cure which is being withheld so as to not allow the public to feel more sexually freed.

What is amazing about the above links is the pathetic lack of understanding by the bloggers who are commenting. I had to look through dozens of posts before I even found one that was even mildly approaching the truth:

"I wasn't sure what my uncle took except AZT and some "cocktail" but after about 2 years of being HIV positive he was skinny as a rail, so whatever Magic's taking with his workouts and healthy diet seems to work wonders because I can't remember seeing someone with HIV be so plump."

or this one:

"The Hiv test is a bogus test and can give a false reading from about 60 to 70 different conditions. I know the person that sent magic johnson the protocol to his doctor when this happened in 91.
Every last one of the AIDS drugs destroy the immune system and are dangerous."

The best user comment was left by someone named "David Burd" in response to (this story):

The Sports Illustrated issue of August 20, 2001, has Magic’s doctor citing that Magic takes one pill in the morning, and one pill in the evening (to ostensibly treat his hiv-antibody condition). However, the actual type of pill(s) are not mentioned, and of course, they could be just vitamin pills. Another possibility is Magic takes no pills at all, but he claims he does because he is/was paid by GlaxoSmithKline to be on billboards and magazine ads to represent the drug Combivir, with each Combivir pill having 300 milligrams of AZT and 150 milligrams of 3TC. Whether Magic takes this AZT potion is strictly conjectural, as all the time people are paid to say they take/consume a product, whether they actually do or not. A last note is that Magic weighs close to 300 pounds, so if he indeed takes one Combibvir a day, his dose-to-weight is a fraction of that so toxic smaller adults and children. Finally, comments from Magic’s publicist during the latter 1990’s had Magic taking no medications, but now with GlaxoSmithKline paying him (probably very handsomely) to represent their product, he may indeed take a token amount. Who knows the actual truth? Only Magic.

Something else to consider is the interesting behavior and quotes Magic gave the press during the 90's (when he was not associated with any pharmaceutical company) versus what he has said since early 2003 (after making ties with GlaxoSmithKline).

For instance, look at his early quotes on his status and what he credits for his health...He is constantly crediting his faith in god, his family support, and his healthy eating and exercise never the drugs. It is only the doctors and people like David Ho who start putting words in his mouth saying in essence: "yes Magic's viral load levels are nice and low, but it's because of the drugs doing their job, and it doesn't mean he doesn't have HIV, it just means it is being very well suppressed," to paraphrase. You can watch an interview from 1995...

and you can even see there how the reporter mentions that Magic doesn't disclose if he takes drugs or anything about what pills he takes. Why the elusiveness?

All we know for sure is that the guy was on AZT early on. We find reports of him starting the drug, but we only hear it through the grapevine that he stopped. We also know for sure that the AIDS establishment was shaking in their boots early on to get a chance to grab Magic as a poster boy. And naturally the only fears doctors had was that Magic's decision to continue exercising and play basketball was the only thing he should be worried about. Certainly the doctors were not even remotely worried about any adverse effects of the drugs they were trying to jam down his throat.

Interestingly enough, as an aside, I found a story before '92 which was already prophesying that very soon AIDS cases were to increase a tremendous amount (double), but not because of any new twists and turns in the actual epidemic, but rather because of the now notorious 1993 definition!

Anyhow, indeed Magic's recent tune has been to the effect that it is the drugs playing most of the role in his health and suppression of HIV.

However I still have yet to see any evidence that he is taking any drugs whatever. If he is, he would probably at LEAST be aware of adverse reactions, and would possibly show some kind of sign of side effects. I have never seen this in Magic. Only during the early early days of his brief stint with AZT do we even approach "tragic Magic" feeling ill and weak. And now that the man has a vested interest in his corporate pharmaceutical selling we can hardly accept what he says on behalf of his drugs and even on behalf of himself.

Do I blame him for hiding the truth? I don't know. It seems that he was thrown under the rug as a player in his prime and his career cut short at the expense of a much needed poster boy the establishment needed at the time. He probably has figured out the fraud by now, and he is probably just another guy who doesn't want to disturb his peachy lifestyle. If that means he quietly tries to "raise awareness" on AIDS and recommends drugs that do harm to people in exchange for some cash...he does it. That's just my speculation. I would like to see Magic take a lie detector test, I'll say that much.

Also it's very interesting to hear what Tommy Morrison has to say on the matter of magic Johnson and AIDS in general. Look at what this guy has to say, as described in ESPN the Magazine:

Everyone wants him to emulate Magic Johnson. Everyone wants him to take the protease inhibitor—the medication pioneered by one of Magic's doctors, David Ho, director of the Aaron Diamond AIDs Research Center in New York—which, as part of the drug combination therapy known as the "cocktail,'' has reportedly helped reduce AIDS-related deaths nationwide by a dramatic margin (down 44% from mid-1996 to mid-'97). It is the drug regimen that the robust 255-pound Johnson follows, but a 185- or a 210 pound Morrison (his weight is debatable) wants to make one thing perfectly clear: He ain't Magic.

The way the boxer sees it, Magic is doing it one way, he is doing it another way—and may the best patient win. The way the boxer sees it, Magic is probably lying ("I don't think he's taking medication''), Dr. Ho is probably lying ("There are a lot of things he can't openly say or they'll shut down his business"), and the government is probably lying ("There's no money in a cure, but there's money in treatment").

YOU HIT IT RIGHT ON THE HEAD TOMMY! Listen to this guy:

"You unravel that little piece of paper in the bottle, and you read about the side effects," he says, "and they match identical to the symptoms of AIDS. So it's the medication that's killing people. HIV's never been proven to cause AIDS. HIV ain't ever killed anybody." ...
"I remember talking to Magic the day I announced I had HIV," he says. "He was preaching, 'Do what your doctor tells you.' Well, I didn't have a doctor then, so I got down on my knees, and I prayed. Every day, I was like, 'God, what do I do?' Hell, I saw myself dying. And then I started getting all these books in the mail, and they all said, 'Don't worry about it. Just live your life.' So that's what I did.''

The whole article is quite interesting to read. Here is the link.

So did Magic Johnson "fake his AIDS?" Well, as established earlier, he has never had AIDS...but...is he faking his "HIV?" Yes! Everyone who thinks they have HIV is a faker! They just might not understand this. Does Magic probably know the truth about HIV not causing AIDS? Again, speculation, but hell yes.

Whatever the truth is about "HIV" in his case, rest assured it has nothing to do with the adventures or whereabouts of Magic's johnson.    ;-)
